Why Men Are Refusing To Help Women and Children

CosmicFlower
CosmicFlower

I had actually gotten fired for escorting, by hand, a child I found lost to the front desk in the store I worked at. The mother had seen me walking down the main aisle with her son and thought I was kidnapping him. Despite mine and my manager's many attempts to convince her that I was only trying to help a lost child, she insisted that I was kidnapping him because I didn't look like an employee (asset protection, so plain clothes). She even called the police and said that the manager and I were conspiring to kidnap her child and demanded that the police speak to the actual manager. Well after an hour or so the police sent her on her way and they apologized on behalf of her. Nothing really came of it until corporate sent someone in and explained that she had filed a lawsuit against me, the store, the manager, and the company for conspiring to kidnap her kid and she said she would drop the lawsuit if I was fired. The reason they sent someone from corporate to fire me was because they had to explain to me exactly what I did wrong in the situation, how I broke company policy and how because of that she actually had a case that stood a chance at getting a settlement at the very least, which they deemed I was not worth. So they used me breaking policy (which was reporting the lost child to a member of management, even though technically in my position I didn't have to since it's kind of my job to protect the assets of the store) as their reason to fire me. What did I learn from this experience? People are crazy and the cost of doing the right thing is high. Lost my job which resulted in missing payments on my car, which led to defaulting on the loan, which tanked my credit, which made getting the loan for the house I was planning to buy impossible. All for trying to help someone. If you ask me, helping someone else isn't worth the risk of ruining the last 6 years of my life and incredibly hindering the next 7 until that default disappears. I'll leave it up to them to take care of their own lives. Heartless? Yeah, but that's how the world works nowadays apparently. Edit: Just to clarify to some people who responded about filing lawsuits, I sued both her and the company. The company settled for a year salary and agreed upon a extension on my healthcare benefits (paid solely by them) which they would keep paying for until I found a new plan that was of equal or greater value for a maximum of 2 years, unfortunately the settlement came after I defaulted on the car loan so the damage had already been done there. I found another job 4 months after I was fired where I was making significantly less than what I was making before, as I was in a lower position and didn't have the 6 years of raises. In regards to my lawsuit against the woman, I couldn't sue for defamation as she did not make any claims publicly and thus my reputation was not effected. I did however sue for lost wages and damages, due to the company settling with me the judge did not grant me the lost wages, she did however award me with a small sum to compensate for damages (basically negligible) while at the same time granted me a restraining order. She is not allowed to come within 100 yards of my place of residence or work. A few months after that was taken care of, the woman got into a car accident while drunk and went to jail. Her time in jail apparently coincided with a custody hearing with her ex-husband and he was granted full custody. I've since washed my hands of the situation and moved on.

Equality. This is the reason why we could not care anymore. You say not all of you want to be treated like a man ect? okay but its the same when you paint all men the same in different circumstances. The thing is with today we risk so much more doing the right thing than just doing nothing. we get seen as a coward ect but why should we risk our life (as in making a living)or lives (actual death may occur) for a slight chance of a praise. My boss wouldn't care if I'm late cause i saved you from an attack and this is the problem. Society as a hole is just not acceptable because we get punished for doing the right thing morally speaking. but is it worth being late and risking my job? that's the real question.

If it was a man being attacked by a woman being watched by two women they would have filmed, laughed, and maybe joined in the beatings. Probably wouldn’t even get in trouble. Doing nothing while people hurt others has always been wrong to me. But, this world doesn’t work the way we were taught anymore. Now we have to walk away. And let whatever evil is happening keep happening.

I wonder how many women would come to the aid of a man being attacked by who ever....and they want equal treatment, but in some cases you can be screwed over for just walking away, and not rendering assistance, like in a road side accident for example, but, generally, I'd use common sense relative to the situation, like, you could ask the victim, do you want my help ? then just call the pigs, and wait for them to get there later and watch the victim die....then you are covered..that's the law for you..totally dysfunctional in an insane world, who wants to be part of this mad house full of fuck wits anyway ? far too many people in this rat maze...human life is not precious, it's cheap as chips simply because we are not an endangered species, in fact, we are a plague, a disease on this planet. Ever since I was a teenager I've always held doors open for people it's kind of my thing don't ask me why! Anyhow i'm 39 now (Female) and back in the 80s-90s men would do this funny thing where they would put their arm above mine and smile so then I would do the same thing and so on until I lost the game cuz I'm kinda short! That rarely happens now (I still get hit on so it's not my looks haha) but I have noticed that men of all ages just walk on by casually without any kind of acknowledgment but women will often smile or thank me. I'm not saying this for any other reason than I find it curious how much things have changed in such a short amount of time. Part of me wonders if women miss this kind of thing. Most of us are not crazy or "excessively" feministic and all people enjoy kindness from one another. I say let's just be nice to each other....ok ok I know that's corny but you know you want it too hehe!!!

Honestly, I highly doubt that woman at the beginning would care either way whether those 2 men had really WANTED to help but were too hesitant to do so - I think that even if someone were to tell her all this information about the possibility of their attempt to help hurting THEM in the end more than actually helping her, she'd likely still expect them to help - to be "chivalrous" (in the TRULY traditional, gallant sense of the word...). 'Cuz men, ESPECIALLY when it comes to helping or protecting women, are expected to treat themselves as expendable for her benefit. Whether that expendability extends to being arrested and carted off to jail or straight-up getting into a fight with someone they don't even know, for the sake or protecting a women they also don't know.

Well since this is in the UK and only people who are white have their race being identified in the article as where the attackers race is not being identified which is a trend and which would lead us to believe that the attackers were not white I'm going to assume they were either black or Muslim. As you can see no matter what leads to the attack if a white person steps in and hits a non-white the white person will be punished and the non-white won't I will bet you that these attackers were also immigrants or their parents were this happens all the time not only in Europe but in the United States just look at crime statistics worldwide or just crime statistics in the United States black males from 18 to 35 make up about 4% of the population in the United States yeah they commit over 50% of violent crimes rapes robberies and murders obviously black people have a problem with being criminals and controlling themselves. So why don't white men get involved for exactly the reasons I stated they will be punished they will be deemed racist this guy is going to jail for 6 years because he decided to help a woman who is being attacked by a drug dealer and then the drug dealer doesn't get in trouble at all makes you wonder, white men are at the point where they don't even want to date or get married or have children with women with feminism and things like black lives matter it's clear to see that white men are attacked on a daily basis just for being white and just for being men it's easier to walk away and mind your own business then to get involved and help someone and then you in the end end up going to jail and some scumbag migrant criminal walks free

I think another case that should be talked about is just logic. I've volunteered in senior homes, and the number one thing that emphasized to me is that if I see a senior falling down, I, in absolutely no way shape or form, should physically pick that person up. The reason is not because they're testing whether or not I honour their rules, but rather the fact that I am not a medically trained professional. If I see an old person on the street fall down, I refuse to help them, not because I don't want to, but rather because I know that I am not medically trained and I could potentially injure them even further. In this scenario, a lot of people would help the senior that falls down, but what happens when they accidentally break something? They get sued. Another case would be if you see a person in a wheelchair trying to get up a hill. Would you want to help them get up the hill? Cause I would want to. However, I do not know the situation of why they are in a wheelchair. A teacher gave me a story where her friend had a very delicate spine and was in a wheelchair trying to get up a hill. A "good samaritan" felt bad for her, and thus proceeded to push her up the hill without asking. The friend got pissed, not because she wasn't grateful, but because there was an increased chance of her death due to a small misstep which will result in the displacement of the spine which will cause death.

You forget a lil but very important part... Here in germany and UK we are troubbled with a biased courtsystem in favour of aliens. If i would help a woman who gets attacked or raped by an alien, i would get problems for hurting the alien. So i simply choose to say, its to dangerous for me, they mostly have knifes, and the woman got exactly what she voted for probably... Dont get me wrong, i worked doors and security in refugee camps and events like Oktoberfest, i can handle myself quite well, but i also know first hand how expensive it get, if you help and show civil courage how its called here in germany. We have completely different selfdefence laws as you in the US. So, as long as the courts are this biased against white men, so long i will go my own way and have a blind eye for such incidents...

Most times actually helping puts yourself at risk as one moment you may help then the person you helped based on some racial bias and or gender bias might get you a nice court adventure. And we all know that if there is no video evidence in a he said she said thing in some countries your ass is just going to go to jail or prison based on word of mouth alone. I think I would rather not bother with any of that bullshit and stay as far away from events that involve strangers.

Honestly, I would go to the help of a child, but I'd be shouting to make everyone aware of my intentions. "HEY, THERES A KID HERE, (insert kids first name here) IS LOST AND LOOKING FOR HIS/HER PARENTS! HEY, LOST KID, IF YOU DONT STEP UP IM TAKING HIM/HER TO THE LOCAL STATION, IF YOU CAN HERE ME FOLLOW MY VOICE!" If not then I'd do as I said and take them there. Now, with helping a woman, I'd be less likely to step up cause it's not the same situation. If I do, unless they had a weapon I wouldnt actively attack the perp. I'd take hits until the authorities came forward, and if it's getting out of hand on my end, then I'd attack back, that way I'd have a decent alibi. I've actually helped a kid find her dad, but I was about 15 at the time, he did get angry (since he had lost her, he was already upset) but after explaining what happened he just walked away irritated. The probably nine year old girl waved at me as thanks tho so I didnt feel like a complete jerk for helping her. Which is a ridiculous statement to say, feeling bad after helping someone shouldn't be a thing. To be punished at all is rediculous. Lord knows how many times I've berated guys who were being assholes, but I've not been presented the opportunity to step into a violent altercation thankfully, that has way too many tied into it to just jump in. I saw the end of a violent altercation at the end of last year, or the beginning of this one, I forget, times weird with me lol. A guy had stepped in to help, but then the woman had gotten mad at him for chasing away her fiance!!!! (Dont marry the tool you idiot! ) The good guy who helped waited at my bus stop and I asked what happened, he told me that he was slapping her around and yelling so he stepped in to talk, and the guy attacked him, so naturally, he beat the guy up pretty well and sent him bloodied on his way at a... pretty fast trot lol.

You're safer not helping. But is that cowardly? Well, personally, I don't mind being a coward if the system would throw me in jail for six years. Most judges have a myopic view of life. They do not think of the greater societal impact of their decisions. In Africa, when two people are fighting, people always step in to stop it. In America, people rather pull out their phones to record the fight. This is because everybody is afraid of being punished if they helped. In fact, just being a witness alone, you could find yourself going to court, at great personal expense. This was why the two men left the scene. It's more risky to be a good samaritan these days.

For fucks sake why can't we just all be basic human beings and just help each other regardless of gender? Its horrible that there are women out there that fuck with other people's lives and make everyone else pay the price. What the fuck?

A few observations here. These cases of good samaritons being prosecutued are very rare. Furthermore, some of these reports are from very bias sources. Eg the Mail is just like Fox news. There are things you can do without tackling people and I have done this successfully once by protecting a mentally ill man from a beating on a train in the UK. The few people that are charged are often later released. However, I do get your points that getting involved in a fracas, can carry so many risks including serious injury and prosecution

Thanks for the warning. Next time I see someone getting raped and/or murdered I'll just mind my own business.
